A perfect evening
Vendredi 2 octobre 2009Here I am in my fake leather dress, a little drunk and very happy. I did not think I could feel so good, ten days before turning in my thesis. The last months have been harassing and, in the past weeks, I worked from 7 am to 3 am, every day. Hence the little personnal writing on this blog. But tonight I decided to take a break. The first part was not planned, and I rejoiced with a dear friend who is hired in New-York –her dream. Then ,Lou Reed after good sex. Then, I walked to a theatre to see, last minute, a play I really wanted to see : “La Douleur” by Marguerite Duras, staged by Chéreau and performed by Dominique Blanc. It was at the cute “Théâtre de l’Atelier”, and Blanc did a good job, although the text was cut, and I did not always hear Marguerite’s music in her performance. Then dinner at a wonderful restaurant in Montmartre, French, traditional, tasty, and we even got some bad poetry recited by one of the drunken customers. The chef was kind of cute, and on the way back, in my bus, I could read the awful text of a play I missed because I was teaching on Tuesday, when my whole family went to see it. I loved finding this play about Arendt-Heidegger’s romance even more appalling than I expected. Paris is really my town, even if I still miss New-York, and will probably go as soon as I am done with the thesis. Tomorrow, I’ll see Schlöndorff him self for the press projection of his new movie at the Cinémathèque.
